Does anyone on here, can recommend someone in South Devon who would do some freelance dressage schooling for me. I would like that person also possibly to do some ground work with a youngster that is currently on the injured list (e.g can't be ridden for some time), but could do to some light in hand work to improve manners. Ideally close to Newton Abbot.

PM me if you prefer.

Where abouts are you? Who do you train with? We do a bit of SJ, but have to be careful about the surface we jump on due to some pas lameness issues.

I'm halfway between Totnes / Newton Abbot in Littlehempston (if you drive past the Pig and Whistle its my lorry in the carpark) I train with Caroline Booker but normally box up and go over to the indoor school near Ivybridge. Failing that if it hasn't been raining too much Gaynor (from Rook farm) is kind enough to let me use her school

Ohh, and I have been thinking somebody is on a very long pub ride. We normally go to Caroline Creighton, who is extremely good, but it's a long way to go and sometimes difficult to fit in if you work.

hehe - well I am the pubs closest neighbour (across the road)

CB is good but very busy most of the time as she tends to come to most of the BSJA shows with us - especially if we have a qualifier on (cue this weekend at the Grange - eeep)

Hope the show at the Grange goes well. Haven't been there in a while, but was hoping to go to the Oli Townsend and Geoff Billington evening in January.

thanks - think I am just going to use it as a schooling round as I won't be going to the final if I qualify (too far away) but will let my boy have a good around before the blue chip qualifier in December

How about Yeb De Jong - dutch guy up near us in Okehampton - but travels all over. he is superb with the youngsters and Is great as a trainer for both jumping and dressage. My 2 year old will be going to him next year to be started and he has worked wonders with my ex racer and we have turned him into a lovely little dressage horse.
