Can't help I'm afraid but I went on my own knowing nobody and found them a very friendly bunch. Is your horse a good jumper? If so I'd suggest sticking like glue to the field-master (and a full hipflask will endear yourself to most of them I found).

Scratch that- i'll be the one grinning at the back on a placid pointer who is an absolute dream in the field!!
Just had a lovely day out with the South Notts today, on my favorite racehorse. Ok, so we got the box stuck and had to await help to get it pulled out but it was still brilliant )

No F, I reckon he'll be the last one we want to take out! Although Tony is threatening to take him and the new Irish

I did go in the end, didn't think to post on here and let you know sorry! Did you enjoy it? I was the lady on the grey - that went unceremoniously through a hedge at one point!

Ah hello!! The rest of the hunt was good, it slowed down a little and we had some nice runs along the riverbank. There was more decent jumping too with no way round so you perhaps went at the right time. When are you next out? Think my next one will be 18th.

If we're very lucky we may only have to do one or two more, we need to step the work and feed up as racing in Jan, but can't do that til we have the certs...... they are mad enough on basic course mix!
Deefa took Trooper, bogged off with the field and jumped a rail then looked round guiltily to see if it was ok! The hounds gave cry and the old boy really perked up, he must have thought his luck was in, hunted with Tony first, at about 12st, me next at about 10, then Deefa who must be 6 stone wet through!!
Thanks to Sam for coming with us, and also to the nice lady with the spare reins after my steed broke hers as soon as we got off the blummin' box.....
We normally jump the rails, but my mare left her legs at the first and damn near somersaulted, she wouldn't go near anything else as the first one bit her! Tony was jumping Rad, who was superb over them, but he wasn't impressed with hanging around. Trouble is with the racers, they expect nice clear takeoff lines with sloping fences, they need to learn about upright rails out of mud...lol A job for the Autumn me thinks.

Hi E , so Rad went? how was he ? I definitely know what you mean about these racers needeing to learn to jump out of mud over uprights some of ours were like that until they hit them and learnt you cant go through them, then they picked up. They are just too used to pristine gallops and race courses with lines of chase fences nothing else.
when do you plan to race yours?

Late Jan onwards, with one maiden ready a bit later as only started her ridden work a week ago. She's the one I hunted yesterday, talk about a baptism of fire....
