Between christmas and new year is my traditional time for starting to think about our summer holidays.
Here are my requirements

Dog friendly beach veryclose to a campsite (I mean like just across the road or somthing)

Near Cardiff area - not too fussy but would like to visit Barry island, Bargoed and Merthyr Tydfil and do a day trip to Hay on Wye, we dont mind having to travel and will spend some time in the Brecon Beacons

Currently we are looking at the first week in September

Is anyone in south Wales who knows about beaches?

Cheers

Hi, sorry can't help on the Cardiff front but do know there are lots of campsites in the Gower, Swansea right next to the beach and I'm pretty sure dogs are welcome there but it is outside the area you were looking for.

Gower is just a bit to far for where I want to be, it would add about 40miles to almost every trip I want to do as we would of traveled extra distance east to have to come back west to get everywhere,
I have emailed the tourest information in Cardiff but I have a feeling they are going to say the same, keep the dogs out of the busy areas its the same on the east coast, cant take her on the beach in Sutton Skeggie or Mablethorpe but can do the beaches in between
