Hey there! Been a while since I've been on here...

Mum and Dad moved to the Cotswolds (I'm still in London!) and Mum has been rather blue about being so far away from me and all the horsey action. Soooo... I'm looking for a really good saddlery/equestrian mega shop around the SW area, preferably around the Cotswolds! Given the area I would have thought there would be some really great horsey shops to save my mother driving across to the store in Ingatestone (where I normally go and where we used to have a day out), however I haven't had a chance to look around yet and the area is quite foreign to me!

So - best places near there for horsey supplies? Not looking for anything particularly specialist but I do love a good browse and excuse to spend hours looking round!

Colne Saddlery,Gl 54 2JJ Upper Slaughter is the only one I know of but there may be something in Chipping Norton and that's a good place to visit for the day just to browse and do a bit of shopping.

I live in the Cotswolds and am a sales rep for an equestrian company covering the right hand side of the country haha.
The best "day out" kind of store near the Cotswolds would be Wadswick. Sadly we have lost a lot of our saddleries in the area.
If you're looking for an Ingatestone-esque store, Wadswick is the best.

There’s Sydney Free in Cirencester. I’ve only been once but it had a nice second hand section to root around and some decent offers on. My daughter got a lovely tweed jacket half price.
Equiboodle, not been since their facelift but really nice people.
Umm, I always see New Hunt horses recommenced but it’s not close to me so I’ve not tried it... it’s on my virtual todo list ;)

Thanks everyone!

With a google I found Colne before - would you recommend it?

Will have a look at the other suggestions now. Thank you!

I love Colne, and Maurice has been my saddler for years, but it isn't a big store to spend hours wandering round. The only real "day out" store in the vicinity would be Wadswick, or MAYBE Oldfields of Ombersley, but that is only about half the size.

If you're after a proper day out with lunch and a seriously big selection to look at in a gorgeous store, Wadswick would be the best bet. It's a real "destination" store.

Was also going to suggests Wadswick (near-ish Bath). Big horsey and country pursuits store with cafe.

New hunt is near me. There's a LOT of stuff there so it's good if you need something but I wouldn't say it was a destination outing iykwkm ;)

About 30 mins from wadswick used to be Pointings near bath, I'm not sure if it's still there but if it is then the two places might make a good double visit, Pointings used to be a lovely posh shop of goodies but I haven't been past in years

Not in the Cotswolds but nowhere near as far as ingatestone is RB Equestrian near Milton Keynes, this is quite a nice place with a decent selection of things
