Adrian has 'narrowing of the TI joint' = bilateral spavins, worse on the right. He has been treated by medicating the joints, bute & has had a course of adequan. For the past 2 months we've been bringing him back into work, while finishing the adequan & the vet says that he's now sound.

He's now off bute & okay doing walk-trot work altho not overly forward going. He will strike off to canter but doesn't really want to do more than half a dozen strides.

I rang Global Herbs last week & spoke to their vet, who recommended StrongBone & MoveFreePlus... He's a spavin specialist & says that the 2 things together should do the trick.

I've used their Bute-X in the past for something unrelated with very impressive results, & wondered whether anyone has had success with herbal treatment for spavins?

The vet wants me to keep a diary & video diary as he would like to use him as a case study... he's only 7 & was doing fairly well BD/BSJA so apparently he's the ideal horse to follow up.

Soooo...any success stories at all as I'm feeling quite

so sorry to hear about Adrian, hope he's on the mend now, I have used equi Elements very successfully on other joint problems, its a form of liquid silicone which is essential for healthy ligamants, bone, tendon etc have a look at the info on falcon equine feeds website. good luck

Have mare with spavins and I am using Feedmark's Zerobute and Extraflex with Rosehips - so far so good. She is sound in all three paces and I'm looking to maybe compete her in BD by the end of January. Good luck!

Well, he's been on the MoveFreePlus since xmas eve, & I have to say that his trot work yest was positively animated... Offered some lengthened strides & was gen joggy instead of idle. Still not keen on canter.

Will try a tack shop or 2 today for the strongbone (which has turned out to be a LOT cheaper than the MoveFreePlus, thank goodness...) and if I can't find it I'll have to mail order it.

It does sound as if these herbal things can sometimes do the trick...

It took 6 months to bring my horse back into work he did 4 months walk work then 2 months trot work. Canter felt awful to begin with but gets better all the time. I have my horse on Suppleaze Gold. Its been really good so far. Its also good value and has excellent ingrediants in it. He was 1/10 lame with spavins. Now very sound and moving better than ever.

I have had fantastic results with their products when my horse split his DDFT and was thought not to be field sound, nearly 3 years later and he is ridden and is able to do 2 hour hacks etc.

I used windgall, tendoneaze and alphabute. I recommend them.

My horse also has bone spavin and is on alphabute.

In fact it is my horse who is on their case study for tendoneaze, the highland x.
