I cannot bare the thought of un-neutered dogs leaving the pound....esp when the akita boy was one of them

Wow that is some undertaking but good for you!! Great pressie for the pound....not sure all those boys are going to be so pleased with no baubles for Christmas!!

Well that's a relief.

Very thoughtful (if logistically mad!) thing to do

I don't know what to say about this, everything sounds wrong...

***Inside FinnishLapphunds brain***

"Hello, this is Cayla. As my Christmas gift this year, I thought I would come and see to that everybody gets their testicles removed..."

Sorry, I hope it all goes well and that you can work out how to get it done with as little hassle for yourself as possible.

Well done. You fruit and nutcase!!!

How many dogs/bitches?

[/ QUOTE ]

There will be 30 at the least.....the pound give out a voucher......and £30 needs to be added, I have all my dog donation money put to one side from the last few months, like elmo he was already vaxed, neutered and chipped so I had nothing to pay out except his food so his donation will neuter 5 dogs
grin.gif
grin.gif
and I have a few more that had everything done when they came in......so I have it covered, without taking it from the rescue/mam as she needs it for her food bills

It will give me a chance to do some posters for them aswell as the pound has no advertising or website
crazy.gif
so may get them a home aswell via the pound as we have no room to take them or offer back up, so it's jsut a way to help them.

Is it a council pound? If so I would put the thumbscrews on the council's PR department to try and get a page on the main council website dedicated to dogs needing homes, a few over here do that and it seems to work quite well.

Hahaha, can just see them all in their buster collars, thinking "Happy f*&^ing Chrismas, my arse!!!!"

Happy Xmas my arse....and "oh yeah talkig of arse, where is my bollox"

I am stunned that your local pound doesn't castrate before dogs are put up for adoption; even the cash-strapped city shelter here performs pre-adoption neutering.

Well done, Cayla, for stepping in and saving the day!

Over here the pound have dog trust vouchers...NOT EVEN COUNCIL ONES
crazy.gif
, and the y hand them out with a rehomed dog and the new owners pay £30 towards the voucher at participating vets
crazy.gif
which obs the majority don't bother to do.

The council pays for 7 days keep which is £45 and then the will pay a put to sleep fee of about £95 on day 8, or the pound has to then take the dog on to rehome, which of course if it's a nice dog they try not to pts to hang onto them, they have zero rehoming skills and if any dogs have a slight issue they have to be dispursed via rescue to be worked with otherwise they could pose a liability to the pound.
If the pound choose to pts after the 8 days then they have to foot the bill.

We have what u call pound helpers who try their best to advertise and rehome the pound dogs, thats how I got dragged in (even though we have enough of our own) but this is my way to try and help atleast.
