i have been loaning my cob since the summer, he is an older chap, proper school master who knows his job and does it well but who came with various issues on the ground. however hes settled so well , got over the majority of the issues and i love him to bits.
His owner has blown me away by offering to sell him to me for £1, she has owned him for 18 yrs, since he was 4 yrs old, and loves him to bits, but accepts that she doesnt offer him a home that suits him, so would like me to have him permantly.

id love to find a christmas present for her that will always remind her of our boy, something that is personal and is to say thank you for this amazing gift.

any suggestions??

A lovely photo in a nice frame? If he's shod, I believe you can get some frames where they use an old shoe as the frame. Or get a pic enlarged. With a lock of his hair in the back maybe?

Horse hair bracelets they are lovely :) and/ or what about one of his shoes? If you could get one cleaned up. I have one of my old boys shoes over my bedroom door, though I painted it silver rather than cleaning up the shoe and leaving it natural. And/or a photo of him in field/ her riding him? Congratulations on your official ownership!
 
Just finished a nice painting for someone as a surprise gift for his OH. Always a popular gift- have done lots of sadly departed horses and xmas presents etc I like the shoe idea too!
 
When we lost my little girls pony we had a gorgeous plaque made with his shoes all polished up, it was made by out farrier who also has this website www.horseshoekeepsakes.co.uk

Its beautiful and has pride of place in her bedroom. The little girl on the website is my daughter and there's also one of hee on her lovely old boy, as he used the photo's I sent him to say Thankyou on his website :)
