Anyone think this is acceptable? granted there are certain degrees of disability etc and it depends on the quality of life, but I just wanted to check I wasnt being cruel in saying I would put the ones I have seen so far to sleep? Is it selfish owners?

and Im only 2 minutes into the programme...

Nope,I watched most of it thinking "that should be PTS" :s

I was taught as a child that the real test of love for your animals is to have the balls to do the right thing when they are suffering no matter how much it hurts you so the "excuse" of but I love him too much to have him PTS doesnt wash with me...

I watched this when it was on a few weeks ago and I was fuming by the end of it.... the poor poor parrots, how could anyone look at them and think they just had issues, they were obvosouly extremly distressed. The little dog Katie however, she was so sweet and she seemed to really love her little cart, I don't think she was "suffering" and she had a vastly improved quality of life and she wasn't that old so I can see why they did it. As for the rabbit, I'm not a rabbit as pets fan so I have no idea what she was doing with it!

I found the white parrot very, very distressing.

I actually thought that the little dog cart (in this particular instance) was brilliant, and the dog seemed to be as happy as larry.

i think the only one i could understand is the little terrier with the cart and the pants for dogs that couldnt control their water works too well as apart from the accidents they had a normal life, that cockatiel was very distressing poor bird some people have no clue, i recently watched a program fat pets and the woman on there with the severely overweight rottie of 14stone + did my head in because she thought the dog was happy coz she never went without and that the owner coped fine being that weight so the dog could?????

The rabbit for me was probably the worst case. In my opinion once an animal stops being able to act like a normal animal its quality of life is greatly reduced.

The terrier did seem happier, wonder how long her front legs will last though carrying all of the weight around?

I do think that the terrier was given a completely new lease of life. It's probably not something I would do - but I was amazed at the transformation.

The rabbit was terribly sad yes.

Was that the program that had the dog with both front legs removed and was walking upright? Just saw an ad for that but didn't get to see the program Saw a rabbit that wasn't able to hop - how can you think a rabbit can be a rabbit if it can't bunny hop??? Cant see that its in the best interests of the animal.......

No differnet one.

that dog wasnt on it but i did see it in the ads for it and to me that is cruel, if a dog was meant to walk on 2legs it would be born with 2legs not 4, the rabbit was also bad its not natural and its back end where it was sat in its own mess was disgusting, amymay i agree i also thought it was gonna get a bit aggressive but fair play to the woman for standing up for the dog, think i would have been a lot worse. here is a pic for those who didnt watch it hope it works

I watched the first 10 or so minutes and couldn't watch anymore - some of those cases were horiffic cruelty. Many of those animals had no quality of life whatsoever
