I have just been told that a new competent forever home is needed for a czechoslovakian wolf dog, he is a castrated 18 month old, very good with children and other dogs, not sure of all the details as yet. But I must emphasis that this is a specialised breed, and his new home really has to be for life, commitment to his on going education is very important.

Forgot to say he is in Hertfordshire

I know one of these - and he's LOVELY. I would almost be tempted in to having a large breed because of the one I met. ;)

Do you have the breeding history of this dog? If not you (and the potential new owners) could have a problem with DEFRA as unless you can prove it's 3rd generation you will need a licence for it.

Lovely dog though.

Is he in Watford? Or nearby? My friend fostered a dog until last week while his owner sorted herself out. If it's him, I think she'd want to know and would foster again if needed.

Why is he in need of a new home? is he with a rescue? or private home?

he is still with his owner. She did not realise she would not have the time for him (why people do this I will never know) so she is looking for a good home for him. I have actually suggested she goes back to the breeder, I have emphasised this as much as possible

I got his age wrong, he is actually 10 months old. And he is F10 (I believe)

he is not in foster care, he is with his original family who bought him as a little puppy, and he will stay there until a home is found for him

Why on earth do people get these dogs when they don't have the time for them??? Makes me mad. Poor dogs. Got mine as a 9 mth old and she had already had 3 homes (including the rescue centre), ridiculous! Hope he finds somewhere, he looks stunning

totally agree, I will never understand why people think that once you have a dog you can put it in a corner and let it get on with life! But on the up side she is not abusing him but I wish she would go back to the breeder and letting them have him back, I will take any of mine back no questions asked

He is now rehomed.....I hope it works out for him

Fabulous. He is such a stunning boy.
I know my Dad has a real soft spot for these and was looking at specialising into the breed - he understands the type of owner they need and would do all the proper homework on them! - but it wouldn't be for a fair while as we do love our GSDs and have rescued a lovely girl :)
Hope it works out for him.
