I’ve looked at all the info out there. Would be nice to hear from someone with experience of him & his methods for this problem.

I think "the horseback vet" is Rob Jackson, also a vet and chiro. He covers the whole of the UK.

**awaits ester to summon the guru**

Have you used him?

I've used him and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. I've used Rob Jackson as well who is also very good, but his PA is a nightmare and he's a fixer, ie he fixes the issue in front of him, whereas Tom looks at the whole horse. Tom got my horse back into work when he had been pretty much written off and the next step was a workup with a not great prognosis.

He was very thorough, stayed for ages going over the horse and his history and current living conditions etc.. He was happy to sit with me afterwards and discuss the horse, work out a feasible rehab plan with me and chat about his training etc. I never felt he was rushing or in a hurry to be off. Hes a nice guy as well as a good vet/osteo

He will be my go to for all weird niggling soundness and NQR issues going forward. If he cant help he will refer you on.

I've met Tom Beech and seen him work on a couple of horses, and had Rob Jackson out to mine.
I'd be happy using either of them should the need arise again :)

Also had both although neither fixed my interesting (!) mare

Rob is what I'd call a traditional back man. He'll watch you trot up and turn in circles then perform some impressive cracks to loosen off the back. I have 2 friends who swear by him and both horses have gone from unrideable into full work. He said when he saw mine he knew he hadn't fixed her and within 24 hours it became apparent where her lameness was. She'd twisted to compensate so by straightening her we could see the problem.

Tom looks at the whole horse. He did an internal exam of my mare to check there were no ovary issues. He then asked me to refer back to my vet to scan her SI

I would recommend Tom Beech. He “fixed” my pony who I had pretty well give up on. I won’t go into whole history but he has arthritis in fetlock, gut issues, poll and jaw problems. Was never a happy pony. Now out and about and is a different person.

Thank you that’s very helpful.

No experience of Rob Jackson but Tom Beech (The Osteopathic Vet) is excellent. Gave me answers for my horse that no-one else had been able to do. You may have to wait for a while for an individual appointment but some of his clients who organise area clinics are starting up again. Have a look at his FB page.
