Spectator shambles at Blenheim...

Shame on the squatters in your seats who refused to move. You shouldn't be so nice, next time insist they vacate your seats and if they won't, make a scene and get the stewards over to evict them, not to place you in empty seats which you'll then get moved on from.

I went on dressage day, allocated seating, had a lovely day out (thanks AM Trust and East Anglia Rider magazine whose prize draw I'd entered) and a guided coursewalk with Lucie MacNicholl which was very informative. There were plenty of spare seats around in the grandstand.

Were the mules still there? Mules R Us. Huge mules, 17.2hh, bred for spanish donkeys.

I have to admit I did feel a bit hurt that those occupying our seats didn't move, they could have even all budged up to occupy the three or four spare seats that were odd and left in between families etc.

Anyway i wrote a letter the day I posted on here and I called today to see if it had been received. I got a very abrupt lady on the phone who said they have to do things in order of importance and it's a far greater priority that they clear the ground first which can take up to six weeks. Then when they feel that is done to a satisfactory standard they organize a panel get together to review any 'correspondence' and decide how to act upon it. Sad really that the views of those who paid to attend seem to be viewed in such low esteem.

What a shame. Awful customer service! Pity that the grumpy woman didn't realise that we were all reading about her on the forum.

Well done you for being assertive, writing and following it up. Go to Bramham next year!

I seem to always come across issues at Blenheim with the seating! A few years ago (2006 I do believe) they'd sold too many tickets for the number of seats, so we had paid for seats that we didn't actually have. They did try their best to accomodate and if not get us our money back - but I thought it was very poorly run. We paid a hell of a lot of money to guarantee us seats to watch the show jumping and we were left disappointed. I've had friends experience a similar issue.

Since then I haven't bothered with SJ day, the 'sit where you want' idea is ridiculous. Especially since I (and many others) had issues back in 06 you'd have thought they'd have solved them by now!
