Hi

Does anyone else think that this could have a huge effect on the racing industry?

I am wondering if in a few years time all youngstock will turn up at the sales with their test results and the price they go for, who buys them and for what purpose will their gene results rather than the breeding etc which is looked at now.

They could then go on and be specifically trained according to the age their muscles develop at and the distance they should be aimed at from the beginning.

Or is the racing industry still too stuck in the old ways and old boys club for this to have much effect on most trainers?

I must say I have wondered if it is in the genes of some TB horses to not come into their full capabilities untill later in life. It would be good for the breed as a whole as there should be far less "wastage" as their is now.

i have said that all along about my mare, she is blooming speeding thing but she didn't fully mature until she was 8 so in theory she has the tt gene.
