Well the prelim went lovely and he felt as great as usual and jumped superbly.
Looked at score board and unfortunately came 4th[2 qualify] The winner scored 163 and we scored 160,gutted but thought never mind will find another qualifier.
Did the novice and he was a bit tired but quite a nice test and jumped brill.There were some really lovely horses so was not suprised to see we only came 6th. Thats ok too ,we can try again.
JUST GOT HOME AND LOOKED AT RULES AND BECAUSE HE CAME 6TH IN NOVICE WE CAN'T DO ANYMORE PRELIM COMB TRAINING.
If we had known we would have waited until we had qualified at prelim before trying novice.REALLY FED UP.HATE BD RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are allowed to have 75 dressage points and still do the prelim, but 0 comb. training points, we had no idea it would knock us out.
Can you imagine doing one novice test coming 6th and not being allowed to do anymore prelims.MAD
It was the prelim qualification we were after and would have done a couple more qualifiers to get it and just missing it by 1%
 
It is a really stupid idea; if Id have done them I would have made the exact same mistake (of course presuming my horse could have found the motivation to do the nov sj

) as you have done today; surely they should be encouraging people to travel and do 3 or 4 qualifiers as there are only a minority of members who want to do this class! Perhaps worth a letter to Bd
