I switched to Winergy Equilibrium from a traditional compound hard feed a while ago & have been really pleased with the results. However it is an expensive feed & I am looking to cut costs.
My girls are currently on the Medium energy & in winter they would go onto Condition. As they don't get the full amount at this time of year they also get a balancer & either Outshine or Build & Glow for coat shine.
I have been speaking to Spillers re their Conditioning Fibre & as they are the same company as Winergy I've asked them to compare the 2 products for me. It does seem that I could feed the Conditioning Fibre in winter rather than the Winergy Equilibrium Condition & save myself some money. The only downside could be that the Spillers product is lighter so I would need to feed more scoops to get the same amount of Equilibrium, but other than that there isn;t much in it.
Does anyone else feed this as the sole source of hard feed over winter for horses in light/medium work? They would still get balancer (for peace of mind!), oil supplement and good quality haylage. I am concerned about my 7/8th TB dropping off but she did really well on Winergy Condition last year so she should be ok.
Any thoughts please?
