Spillers performance mix

My friend has just put her horse on spillers performance mix alongside light and lean and it has given her a boost of energy. I was thinking of putting my old boy on it but he’s on supple and senior. Both of these have vits and mins in thought so wouldn’t want to overfeed. Anyone have experience of performance mix?

Do you currently feed at the recommended amount? Are you wanting more energy?

I use the balancer cup for feeding works out two cups. Perhaps need to up the haylage. The challenge is not getting too fat but keeping energy on. We go out and have a canter up the hill but then he runs out half way up. Wasn’t like this in summer so much.

My old boy used to go a bit flat at this time of year. Changing coats uses energy, this could be a cause. However, a set of bloods maybe useful if he wasn't like this a few months ago.

I used to pop him on Kossolian blood salts which helped.
