.... Huge wagon ? Tele dumped at the side of the road ? Broken plant pots ? Horses galloping at us ?

..... no a Colt..:o

Me and mum went out on our plod along Cob yesterday walked past a million things i would expect her to spook at and the silly mare came across a Colt in the field next to the lane, after checking where mum was she promptly decided it would be best to spin and canter down the road with me clinging on to the saddle

So back we went, jogging on the side, snorting and breathing like darth vader before promptly releasing it was infact a smaller version of herself and starting neighing and relaxed :D

She does make me giggle, spooks at some of the stupidest things in the world apparantly a huge combine harvester practically up her arse is fine but not a gypsy cob colt ;)

I've had something similar with 2 Clydie mares, spooked by different colts. The first time was the 'sensible friend' who took exception to a 2 welsh colts in a triangular field which we had to go along 2 sides of onour hack, we were going downhill at the time. Fortunately when we put the spooky friend between her and the colts she settled enough for me to keep her at a walk but she was very unsettled.
The other time on a young Clydie mare, we were passing a field which borders one of ours, so she had seen these colts frequently but we were trotting past when they cantered up to the wall and spooked her. She set off at a VERY fast trot which I struggled to slow down. In fact we only stopped agter we'd shot across the (quiet) road junction and i pointed her at the wall. The colts stopped when they got to the end of their field, so she began to calm down before we actually got to the junction. I got a different bit after that!
