spiral muck heap - how to build? or other types?

my muck heap is in one of my paddocks on the ground and has just been taken away so new one starts now!

i usually aim to build a smart square heap and it gets enlarged as necessary. i have a plastic ramp that we move about to get as high as poss and it is stamped down daily.

but..heard of a spiral muck heap recently and wondered how that worked and whether worth a try.
Any info anyone, or suggestions for another type?

3 horses, mainly field poo, but some shavings too.

I built mine into a giant ziggurat - it was something to be proud of, but not particularly helpful to you!

ok - just checked out article on ziggerats and am suitably impressed,
but no explanation of ziggerat building technique!
so no further on in my quest!
where does one start. in the middle?

Stepped muck heap. Simple! Cant go wrong with it... Or one that you build banks round outside, fill in, build banks, fill in etc. Neat and tidy. OH cant get it wrong either.

Build a good, big, solid platform then using planks to wheelbarrow up, build more levels on top. As long as you keep each level god and solid it works a treat.

thanks guys - am doing the build banks round outside, then fill to build a platform, squash as you go and use ramp to wheelbarrow - so maybe i am doing the best i can already?

crazyfriesan!!! chances of getting my OH anywhere near the muck heap would be a fine thing, he doesn't do hosses :-(
