spitting water!!

tonight for the first time I noticed my big mare do a really strange thing with water.
She was having a drink, I was stood next to her in the stable, when she was finished she was enjoying having her neck scratched, when about 30 seconds later she spat a whole mouth full of water out, like she had been holding it in her mouth. an hour or so later, I was about to leave, she was stood with her head out of the stable door, I went to give her a goodnight kiss as normal, and she spat another mouthful of water out (where she had just had more to drink half a minute before) Is this normal????

Every horse I've seen drink has done this after having a drink.

One of mine lifts his head and dribbles down some unsuspecting persons neck.

Yep my mare does this. she takes a mouthful of water, then mouthful of hay and dribbles the whole lot everywhere. She seems to enjoy getting a mouthful of water and just standing there and letting it trickle out of her mouth!! Funny creatures are horses!!!

My mare does this to, usually all over my head when i'm picking her feet out when she has been brought in. Think sometimes she does it on purpose!

Sometimes you ca tell when she has got a mouthful though because she sticks her tongue out!
