My horse acquired a splint on the outside of his front leg 4 weeks ago. He was intially lame and had 2 weeks danillon and has been rested since. Have been using magnetic boots daily along with homeopathic remedies. He has appeared sound for the last couple of weeks and splint has gone down considerably. He doesnt appear sensitive to it being touched and there is no heat present. I was thinking about bringing him back into work at some point this week, obviously just hacking in walk to start with. Just wondered if this appears to be ok and people think he has had adequate time for the splint to have healed?

As long as the splint has formed and he isn't longer lame there is no reason why you can not start bringing him back into work

Mine have formed splints without being lame and have continued to work.
