I noticed this morning that my youngster has a splint forming. I am currently in the process of preparing to back him so he's worked mostly in walk with some trotting on the long lines (grass and sand school)
He isn't lame and the splint is forming towards the bottom of where the splint bone is so not near a joint.
Is it better to just rest him now and try to back him again once the splint has settled or continue now with the process unless he goes lame?
