My horse has unfortunately been kicked and has now had a haematoma and vets feel likely to have also a hairline fracture at the top to just off centre of his front right leg.
He has been in and bandaged and splinted since Monday, however am having major issues with the splint.
When the vet has done the splint, as well as myself & friend, the splint keeps moving....either to the front of his hoof or around the back rather than staying to the side.....and literally moving within 10 minutes of being done
He isnt currently being cross tied, so am going to spk to vets in the morning to confirm if its being splinted to just stop him lying down or whether to stop him bending his leg too much or both and whether he needs to be cross tied, but I wanted to find out if anyone within HHO has had a similar experience of splinting a leg for a hairline fracture and if they had had similar problems and whether they had any suggestions on solving the splint moving issue.......?
Any experiences would be appreciated as its starting to stress me out and I have at least another 12 days to go before xrays......
