Splints and Lemons

Has anyone else heard that slices of lemons put on splints can help them go down??

yep i heard this, and when my boy had a splint i put lemon juice on it twice a day
not sure if it did anygood, but it didnt do any harm
a naturalist healing lady that came to the yard reckonded that it was a good idea becasue lemon has natural antiinflamatory properties due to its acidic nature

A Dutch groom taught me that one and it does seem to help! She would cut a lemon in half, bandage one half to the splint and keep the other half in the house. When the half in the house was mouldy and yuchy it was time to take the other half off the splint. The bandage should be redone every day but without moving the splint lemon. M.

Well, most splints do go down anyway...but if it makes you feel good...

Yes - but the lemon is very acidic and can actually remove the hair on the leg so proceed with caution..

Didnt do anything when I tried it. Splintex seemed to work though.
