splints in foal

my little 11 month old colt came in lame today with what felt like a big splint on his front leg its something thats always been there but today it seems to have got bigger im a bit worries as hes only young going to keep him in for a few days and vet on monday any suggestions as to what it might be if not a splint as hes so young

could well be a splint.
he hasnt had a kick from another horse or could he have struck into himself if having a hooly (as they do) keeping him in for a couple of days and use something like bone radiol will help.
