Ned has had a small splint on his left fore for a few years now. Today I noticed it has got a little bit bigger, kind of like a small egg (but very small, about the circumference of a 5p at most)

It isnt warm, or sore (had a good poke) and hore isnt remotely lame. Hacked out, just a little very gentle hack, but horse was forward going and not at all unsound on that leg.

Should I be doing anything with it? Am I be ok to carry on riding as normal, or should I be avoiding schooling/jumping/just not riding at all?

Anything I should look out for?

Thanks!

They can get bigger, especially if the ground is hard, or the horse has been stamping at flies etc. If not hot or sore (pick up leg, flex at knee and squeeze on splint - if horse draws leg away, its sore!), then I'd be happy enough working as normal.

splints can be bad if not looked after i think global herbs do i product called splint witch might help and if you are carring on riding do it on soft ground and slowly and you can buy solint boots!
