Splints

Just been to view a lovely 4 yr old which is perfect in every way except he hs a small splint just below the knee. It is formed and he is sound. Not sure whether I should buy him or not. Am having him vetted this Fri so will get the vet to have a good look

I don't think splints are a problem. In fact, thinking about it, every horse I have ever owned has had one. As long as it is formed and they are sound, its not a lot to worry about in my opinion.

They usually disappear over time

If its a top showing prospect its not good, but as already said its not usually a problem if fully formed. My 23 yr old had one at 2 & its never caused any problems.
