Split haylage

My greedy fat pony got into my haylage enclosure and nibbled the corners of three very large bales. I've taped them up but will they go off. They have been lasting me 2 half weeks . I wondered if they are best opened or do you think they will be OK. Thanks

I would imagine, at this time of year, they will be fine....

Yes I think they will be fine if they go mouldy closest to holes just dump that bit.

Agree, if you taped them up, they should be fine.

Mine did that a few weks ago(in all the rain), they put multiple holes and rips in the 7 bales they could get to. I used over a roll of duct tape (many holes) and they did it again the next night. I was furious and took off neck covers so they would feel the electric fence.
I have had to start using now as wasn't sure how it would last and they are actually fine, although it is very dry,more like wrapped hay

We managed to put a few holes in a few bales while we were moving them, taped them up and they have been fine so far

He could not have stuck to the opened one he had to have a taste of the other three. He managed to move to slip rails that I can just about lift myself.

I worry about haylage so I'm afraid I would't use it, but then I wouldn't use a bale for two and a half weeks either so you'd probably be best to ignore what I'd do!
