Does anyone have any experience of a split patellar that wasn't done as surgery for upward fixation of the patellar, but as an injury that the horse has managed by themselves ??

Can't seem to find anything on the internet for this.

If so, how did you horse do it? How old were they? What was the prognosis?

Many thanks

Do you mean liagament or bone? Tamarillo fractured his patella one year, id have thought its a injury more common to eventers from smacking their stifles on fences. Ive not had first hand experience but I think tamarillo had surgery to fix his fracture but it was a long time ago.

Ah I mean ligament. Horses who get a locking stifle have the op done to allow the ligament to move. That's all the info on it I can find, not the ligament splitting as a result of injury.
