spondylosis of the spine

Our dog had it and it is a degeneration of the discs in the spine. They often dessicate and can protrude into the sheath of the spinal chord. If it is not so bad, then acupuncture, anti inflammatories (Cartrophen etc.) and conservative treatments can help. Basically it is a form of arthritis of the spine.

I am not sure but i believe spondylisis is degeneration of the discs , but my horse has spondylosis which is when they grow spurs off the vertibrae of extra bone, seems its realy rare , he's only 5 a lovely warmblood, not looking too hopefull which is why i posted this to see if anyone can help!!!!

We are going to try Tildren next week, dont think we can opperate as they will grow back, also not the best of places , he has it i think on T9 (just below the withers)and the spurs are growing off the bottom of the vertibrae.I will be seeing the x-rays next week and hopefully the vet might have come up with some ideas. Really sad as he seems fine to lunge but not happy with a rider.
