I was just thinking about how fun it would be to ride in aid of a charity. I have looked online, and they are all either fully booked, or are rather far away.
Who's been on endurance rides? Are they fun? What ages ride?
How would you volunteer to create a sponsored ride in aid of Breast Cancer for example?
I think it would be great! Dress up in pink, and it's fun, whilst helping something that's such a devastating and unfortunately popular cancer in peoples lives.
Some info on how organisers start these etc. Or if there is any going for the near future in aid of cancer x

I went on a pleasure ride organized by Derbyshire EGB which was also raising money for the air ambulance.

I've no idea about ride organization but didn't want this to slip off without replies. Maybe get in touch with your local group of EGB and ask for their advice? If they don't really know about the charity aspect try getting in touch with Derbyshire EGB and ask how they went about it?

Someone else can probably be more help. :o Good luck with it. :)

You could organise a local circular ride in aid of Breast Cancer. I have organised several and you will need a lead time of about one year to get the route organised, get landowners permission, get volunteers signed up to help mark out the route and be stewards on the day etc, organise first aid, food and get the publicity out well in advance. As it happens the ones I organised we did together with an endurance ride and they where a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves.
