Hi I have not posted on here before. Have a question I hope that someone can answer. If I organise a sponsored ride. Do I have to take out insurance for the event or can I get the riders to sign a disclaimer and ask them to ensure that they have their own insurance.

I have organised several sponsored rides/endurance rides.

You must take out insurance which has public liability in excess of 10,000,000 (Ten million pounds). A disclaimer won't work.

Totally agree it is a REAL REAL MUST especially in these days of sueing everyone when things go slightly wrong

I also believe that you cannot sign away your rights in this country although people think they do, there's too many loopholes!
