Spooky Dressage Test lol

Dressage again this weekend. Lovely event at Bury Farm. Got called into arena 1 and my gorgeous poofy pants Dino, was scared of something at the judges box end. I had a hell of a time with him the silly sausage. Anyhoooow, the judge was very good but couldnt wait no longer (oooooh no, here we go) The bell went and we done the worst dressage test in the history of mankind lol. If i managage to get him near ish to that end of the arena, he'd fly past it petrified !!!!!!!!!!. Needless to say, I think I may of came last with 40 somthing % I think. I kept going though as it was experience for him the daft thing. Second class in 30 mins time, for team events (CHRC) I was thinking to myself, shall i go home now lol.
Called in to arena 2 and showed him that end of the arean. Again judge very good but Dino still tense at this end. The bell went and offfffff I went ! he was a lot better and more together but had an eye on the same area, silly billy. Anyhooooooows. very pleased with a respectable 62.1 %, and his best free walk loose rein ever. His head was very very low. I know he would have got so much more better marks if the bloooomin boogey man wasnt up in the corner. We had a fab day and met another H & H'r who kindly supported me in my classes. Thanks to Mel and her gorgeous horse HERO. All credit due to CHRC as well for such a very well organised pleasant event. Has anyone else got any tales of a mishap or disaster in a dressage test lol !!!

Yup had a pretty similar experience to you yesterday. Had an awful time with my boy in the dressage, he wouldnt settle, was jogging instead of walking and peed off with me twice lol! So we got our worst ever score of 51.2% !! We've never got below 60% before lol!!
I wouldnt mind but my friend took his baby in the same test and same arena and pulled off a beautiful test for only his second time out!!
Oh well thats horses for you isnt it, and I wouldnt change him for the world, if he was good all the time it would be boring, and we all have to be shown up now and again, think he was just trying to keep me grounded lol!

Yay I wasn't the only one then, i took rose out for the first time and in the first test I did a 20 m circle at A but did 1/2 of it out side the arena lol and we also jumped the letter E out of the arena then back in. Got some good points tho an 8 for our free walk . Like you I just smiled and thought it's all good experience. Just got to keep going and enjoy it, I hate to see ppl looking sour when things go wrong, it's ment to be fun

What a shame about your first test, but well done for keeping your calm and ridding him through the second one for a much better result! Sounds like you had a great attitude about it all and didn't get annoyed with him. Put it down to experience, sometimes they just smell/see things that we don't!
