When i take my mare XC she is very spooky and doesnt really go forward into her fences and settle into a rhythm. Because of this she makes it more hard work for herself and runs out of stamina a lot quicker, usually about 3/4 of the way round so i have to slow down.
Now this is probably because she doesnt do it regularly, about twice, three times a year but she is always the same.
She is very honest and always jumps the fences, just doesnt move forward and take the bit, instead she is behind the bit and it feels like she is bouncing along like a kangaroo as she is so hesitant!
Is there anything i can do to help this or is it just a case of getting her out doing more XC? Has any one else ever had a horse like this? I would love a bold horse XC...one day!
Hope that makes sense!!
