SPOOKY !!!!!!!

Does anyone know why a horse would get really spooky when living out in the field.
He is not a spooky horse in the slightest but in summer when he lives out he always gets really spooky mainly when you are bringing him in from the field and jumps at really little things or even nothing.
He gets brought in everyday to be worked or just groomed and fed so it's not that its cause he isnt being handled and just thrown out and left cause he isnt.
When he was coming in at night he is fine but he only does it when he stays out
Any thoughts ........

Maybe not able to fully relax in the field 24/7 and thinks there are tigers in all the hedges???

Does he have companions to keep 'Lookie Outie' for him while he has a kip???

oh yes got plenty of mates in the field with him that all stay out with him, he is just being a wimp i think isnt he he might be scared of the dark LOL bless he he

Maybe it's his way of protesting at coming back in?!?

Mine messes about when he's been left out because he doesn't want to leave his mates or the lovely grass to come in and work.

My 3yr old does it - she's just been brought in tonight as the forecast is awful and she's a wuss in the rain and wind. Apparently she'd forgotten how to be caught, forgotten how to walk on the end of a rope (well, with four feet on the ground anyway!) Spooked all the way up the road - despite her friend being led with her then promptly wrecked the nice clean stable I put her in.........why do I do it
