Sports Boots-Help or harm?

Hi I have a 16.2 selle francais mare who has a windgall in her right hind. I'm looking for something to protect/support the leg from further damage, the sports boots with strap going under the fetlock looks like it might be OK, but have heard mixed things about them. I have woofear pro boots for the fronts already so I'm looking for boots for the hinds. If anyone has any opinions please voice them! Thanks!

i used to use them but tbh i don't think they're much cop. however, a lot of polo people still use them, so perhaps they do make a difference. for slight pressure i would put a size C tubigrip on the leg under the boot, if really worried... however, i don't worry much about windgalls.
there's an excellent answer about windgalls in the post on "swollen legs" (in Vet section), looks as if it is written by a vet, or at least by someone very knowledgeable.
