Is there anyone else who gets slightly irritates every year when other sports get their athletes nominated for awards yet equestrian athletes get a little mention.. Shouldn't people like Carl hester ultimately the created of double gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin.. Mary king a huge inspiration to the eventing circuit...365 days a year working with a 1400pound animal that we will never fully understand and vice verse!

Sorry for the rant but does anybody else feel the same, that we should be nominated for once!?

Maybe so I must of missed it but that is very true publicity is everything... Although I think the personality part needs replacing with achievement... Of some of those nominated genuinely have a brilliant personality... As great as our mention was we do deserve more

All of the athletes work as hard as each other. It's just that equestrian sports aren't as popular. At least equestrian got a couple of minutes this year, unlike previous years!

Dressage will never be popular because to people who've never ridden it looks so easy. Most people will have ran or swam or done archery so they know they couldn't do that but it's very very hard to make riding look easy.

Poor show by the dressage riders who couldn't attend because they were at Olympia. For heavens sake, Olympia hadn't started and both events were in London.
Don't think that's a very good excuse.

Zara Phillips won it a few years back. Guessing that was only because the rest of the sports did not do well that year? I was surprised Charlotte wasnt nominated. the others were for wining one gold or two and she got two and her performances also depend on if the horse behaves!

On that note....anyone else think wiggins is an idiot or is it just me? :D

Actually I thought that but then maybe thought I was being ungracious.

It would have given people an opportunity to see how funny Carl is and how inspirational Charlotte is and how neither of them are silver spoon rich and snooty.

I hate myself for saying this but I wish they had asked one of the younger lads, Ben or Scott to speak for the SJer's. Nick looked nervous and the last time mainstream SJing was on telly it was full of old boys ie Harvey, Malcolm and the general public may have the view it hasn't changed much.
