Hi is there a spot on type wormer for cats you can get over the counter? the one i use i can only get from the vet, many thanks!

Yes - I bought some a year or so ago, from pet shop, for the yard cat because getting anything down his throat is like wrestling with an irritable velocoraptor. Can't remember what it was called or how effective it was but I do remember that the yard cat hissed when it was applied so I wasn't sure if it can sting. If so, tough, because it's still the only way to worm him.

Over the years I've learned to get all my wormers and flea control spot ons from the vet. I don't find other stuff works as well... this is not scientific, just my opinion from observations.

yes, but they dont work! buy the one from your vet - at least you know it will do what you want it to.

^^ This, too true!!! Profender I believe is the best spot on wormer as it does ascarids aswell as tapeworm etc, but is a prescription medicine. You can get droncit spot on which I think is general sales, but that won't do round worms so you'd need to then treat with something like stronghold or advocate to do the round worm which are both POM's so not saving you anything! Can you not crush a milbemax or drontal tablet up in some really tasty and powerful smelling fishy food like macrel??? sometimes works!?

most vets will do a free flea check and will then be able to prescribe advocate and profender or alike products for a year for you. Thus costing you nothing extra but a few scratches from getting kitty in the basket!
