About a month or so ago, I saw an obvious (at the time) plug of a site called manage my horse , now it turned out a overly (rightly so now its helped me so much) proud husband who got a bit excited and told us all about his wife’s site. As you can imagine he got torn apart. The cynics on here ravaged him. His wife eventually came on and apologised. I read a couple of her posts after and to be honest wasn’t surprised when she never came back! Since that time I joined the site, now today I have just finished my year end accounts for my accountant who is over-joyed at my organisation.I am a horse lover first and foremost, an event rider (as my job) and a business owner (the hardest part). I would really like to say sorry to the wife for the welcome she got on this site as her site is without a doubt the most innovative and helpful horse website I have come across in years and I have never been so organised and for that alone Mrs Manage My Horse my accountant loves you!! My friends love it too so it's no way just me.

I took time out last week to email her and say as such and this is a bit of what she said “

Anyway it’s Christmas and I wanted to do something good and say thank you for being so nice really. I know she can’t read this but if anyone knows her tell her we love her site and GOOD LUCK with it in 2007, and it looks like all the mags love it to as I’ve seen it in so many!

And I don’t know the people, live near them, no anyone that knows them or work for them! Although in a year or two’s time I just might wish I did!!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh crap this is what she said .........................

“ thank you sincerely for your comments, I’m so glad you and your horses are benefiting from my site. If it helps just one horse then I am happy! I can’t log into the forum anymore as when I asked them to delete my account I got banned and if I try to access the forum it tells me I am banned so I guess it recognises my laptop or something like that!

The site really will start in earnest next year and there really is quite a bit more coming. In answer to your question about it being free, and I answer this question at least once a day, I always wanted it to be free, sponsorship will take care of the costs of running it. Horse ownership is expensive enough as it is and I wanted to make a difference to everyone from your horse enthusiast who wants to log their lessons and landmarks to the large businesses and everyone in between.”

sorry i am really useless it's taken me an hour to type that and spell everything right

The site is fabulous, and I think *we* should all be ashamed for shooting the poster down, when it was a non profit making advertisement which could benefit us all.

Merry Christmas.

my thoughts absolutely. From her email to me I seriously don't think she'll come back, too bloody busy now it seems apart from anything else. I think they just wanted to tell as many people as poss.

lol !! Only for the fact it was seen as advertising not the site itself as quite a few said it was good. I only know it's good now as I've been at it a while. I can't wait to get my horse fittening underway as this site willhelp me remember soooo much. Stuff i never ever remember but wish i had. the more you use it the more you realise why you started.

I remember the original poster

Its an amazing site, really wonderful and it was a crying shame some members felt the need to get on their 'high horses' about 'advertising' when in fact (as memory serves) she was simply asking opinion on what we, as a horsey community thought.

Good on her for making it work and thank you for such a fab site/service.

Use copy and paste from the e-mail it will save you a lot of typing. Use the left mouse and click on where you want to start copying from, once its all higlighted in blue (or whatever colour) use Edit then select Copy from the menubar on your Groupwise/Outlook or whatever e-mail application you use.

Then go into your post on H&H forum and select Edit and then Paste from the toolbar. You may need to have your H&H response opened first so that you don't 'lose' the copy bit and have to do it again.

I hate it when people don't know how to copy and paste. It's so useful.

I dont remember any criticism about advertising either, just someone recommending the site. I promptly registered and use it quite frequently

wicked wicked site, i use it everyday practically. I remember the original post too and they totally shot the old man down. They did post for help a few weeks later so maybe you didn't see the original, someone did slate them and a few others followwed. All done now as the site redemmed itself bigtime by being so bloody good. I agree the very best horse help, managing organising website there is has helped me out loads and I'd defo work for them!! LOL!!! WELL done MMH! Looking forward to new stuff too! MERRY CRIMBO EVERONE!!!

YEP all in the past now. Manage My Horse rocks! Like you say Dan really looking forward to the new stuff too. My mate suggested a few things and I know they've said they'll get them on next year. Did cut and paste fromthe email it was my writing that took the time. I always do it in word first so it spell checks or no=one would understnad a word i say as i'm crap at spelling!

I'm getting merrier by the minute. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I think it is a brilliant site. I have emailed the woman near when it started suggesting things and she was nothing short of lovely.

I hate it when people shoot straight from the hip without thinking of the long term effect this can have on people.

Many people have been accused of advertising (as I bet I will be) when you just want to sing someones praises for one reason or another.

GET A GRIP PEOPLE!!

Hi and oh yes I asked about that, basically she told me that it is very safe and your password has to be highest strength so a capital and a number and at least 8 characters. It's all held in a really secure datahouse in london with other top websites (don't understnad this bit but that's what my email said). And she told me all about the privacy policy. Email her and she'll tell you the same and it's on the help centre FAQ thing when you log in anyway. enquires@manage-my-horse.com, Just like they are all saying it's really really good. I did check this out before I joined as I am holding a lot on there and asked her lots and lots of questions! It's backed up too and i don't even know how to do that myslef but basically even if the site has maintenance and stuff your info is safe.

safe as anywhere else on the web and maybe quite a bit more so as I know the terms confirm your personal info won't be divulged to anyone unlike my bloody bank who sell it all and sundry i just found out, that's where my junk mail comes from!

Really pleased this has been recognised - I work in the industry and heard about it a bit before everyone else and thought it was an amazing concept!!! I hear it is creating quite a stir with some of the big companies - am surprised noone had thought of it sooner!!
I find the competition records a great way of looking back on what I have done - have kept a log of all my dressage tests with percentages, judges comments and my collective marks - its great to look back without having to find all my sheets (which are not quite as organised!!!!!!)
