I took my HW cob to Smallwood equestrian centre and did a SJ and XC clinic, we had a great time but the next day his hock was puffy at the front, the vet came out and said that he has sprained it and to give him a couple of weeks off and start to hack him again. The vet did a flextion test and he was only slightly lame. About 8 weeks prior to this we did a showing clinic on grass and the next day in the field he was being silly and cantering around a lot, this also made him slightly lame. I have come to the conclusion that at 14 he is finding the hard ground difficult. He has not had a hard jumping life we started about 2 years ago on and off and we always do it on a surface, he has mainly been a happy hacker, with a bit of hunting, and dressage. He is fit.
Has anybody else had this and what job does your horse do now?
