sprained / pulled back muscle

Been told today that my poor 17 year old mare has pulled /sprained her muscle in her back, it begins with S can't remember what he called it, I just don't have any luck what so ever, does anyone have any advice or experience with pulled muscles with what to do

It might be the supraspinous ligament? I think that's what it is called. A couple of good physio sessions, and some exercises and prescribed work regime from the physio will hopefully get her on the road to recovery
It would help if you know what caused it as you can address that, change her workload etc, to prevent it from happening again. It could be as simple as hooning around the field.
