Does anyone know what it is, and where I can get it from?

I believe it is only a temporary thing and you spray it on each time it is required.

Does it work, and does it affect the leather in any way ?

or, you could just work hard to develop and secure and correct seat!

Superglue would be more effective for long term use. Superglue your favourite jods to the saddle, then you just have to slip into them when you ride.

Saddle Grip Sporty Haft-Spray you can send for it online from some USA saddlers but it is made in Germany. Many top trainers in the USA, Germany and mainland Europe use it especially for young students. No it does not affect the leather I believe, never tried it ourselves though one young rider we had work for us for a yr loved the stuff (ex British Young Rider medalist) just asked her what the name of it was. Apparantely she still uses it now as a UK 4* rider but I guess she needs to take Lifeslemons advice and improve her seat.

Or you could do as Lifeslemons does and shove a pole up your a*$$? and tie yourself to the saddle with baler twine and purse your lips...have at it.

I have a friend who used it & said it was good but makes a funny noise when you move.

I've thought about trying it but the noise'd probably just give my mare an excuse to spook!

Have found that good old fashioned saddle grease or soap applied just before your ride to saddle flap and linside of leather boots works wonders. It creates that sticky feeling you get when you haven't buffed up leather after cleaning....... go on try it.... honest it works!

Of course developing a good seat and quiet legs are the fundemental basics but when your trying to get fit again in the saddle or your a newbie rider and even if your not, a little extra help is always a good thing if it helps.

i borrowd some sit tite in my flatowrk lesson...it did make a difference-but no omre than wearing my competition breeches which have a full seat in!

I've got the Sporty-Haft spray. Thought it was a good idea at the time, but if you spray it on the seat of your saddle, your johds stick to it, then when you do rising trot there's this momentary period when your johds are stuck to the saddle and your not...feels weird. Then you get the unsticking squelch noise, and when you're finished your saddle is coated with fluff and dead flies!
