Sprenger Bow Balance fit advice

I've recently purchased a pair of Sprenger Bow Balance stirrups to help my old decrepit knees.

However, I'm not sure if I'm being completely thick, or I've put them on my stirrup leather incorrectly. I don't have pictures (will get some at the yard later) but they don't seem to sit horizontally against my foot, almost on a bit of an angle. Is this correct?

Does anyone have any pictures of them in action? I've had a look on google but mostly there are stock photos which I feel don't help.

The stirrups themselves appear to be helping in that my knee pain has reduced, but they just look a bit odd when in use!

That is correct. So long as you have the left & right irons on the correct side you are fine.

Yep, definitely have the right and left on the correct sides. I think it's probably got more to do with my wonky legs than anything but it's always useful to check.

I actually find the stirrups more comfortable if I have L and R swapped round!
