Since breaking my ribs a month ago, I dont have the strength to hold Stan & he's very sneaky about slowly increasing the speed out hacking.
I borrowed a couple of bits & so far the sprenger kimblewick with a lozenge (double jointed) mouthpiece worked well today. In fact so well I'm considering jumping him in it too.
He's a bit tricky to bit (currently in sweet iron loose ring snaffle), cant use poll pressure as he reacts badly to it -hence trying a kimblewick. A standard kimblewick was a disaster, it stopped the front end so quickly that the back end still kept going. However I had the chance to borrow the sprenger.
I'm now trying to find somewhere to buy one, but nowhere seems to do them.
Any experience in using them or buying this type?
