I rode yesterday, it was glorious frosty sunshine and there were snowdrops. I always start feeling a bit more hopeful as soon as snowdrops, and then daffodils, start poking through. My birthday is in the middle of February and it usually feels like it's only a few weeks after that until things start brightening up - it won't be long!!

It was grim here today. Started with freezing fog and black ice. Hoped to ride this afternoon but checked out bridlepath and the rain had turned it into a skating rink.

Ponies fed up. Yard cat fed up. Human thinking she needs to hibernate next winter

For the first time in 18 months, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm missing full livery ?

It feels like this is the winter that keeps on giving. It can stop now.

I went to the yard after dark tonight in a base layer, fleece, gilet and my Big Coat, had to take it off grooming instead of, you know, 2 seconds before getting on, so… Bring on week-night riding in daylight!
