Spring is in the air

Yes my WB mare, normally well mannered, she comes as normal, accepts her headcollar, then either plants or spins and takes off, for the first time in three years, I've had to resort to a rope round her nose to keep control

The only tip I have is patience! Not very helpful as patience wanes dramatically when trying to catch a devil!! I have a long history with hard-to-catchers. I just follow them around and eventually they give in when they realise I'm not giving up. Any little tricks I've tried have only ended up with them in a bad mood.
My Shetland is the exception to that rule. If he doesn't want to be caught, theres no way you can catch him. My record was 2 hours, and when it got pitch black I lost visibility and had to give up. Little terror!
