HI,
As title, have any of you used a leaf blower as part of your spring clean. I can't use a pressure washer.

Not personally, but I used to teach at a yard that did, as a daily sweep.

Was a bit offputting to me when I first saw it, but all the horses were fine! It did the job of sweeping magnificently.

Mr Red plans on getting us one, as Rigsby's 'patio' outside his stable is road planings and can't be swept. He plans on blowing it clean.

Ive managed a lot of yards that use leaf blowers instead of brooms. The last one would take two people over two hours to sweep fully, which was a huge waste of time and money. One person at each end of the barn with a leaf blower - done in ten minutes.

We use battery blowers on our yard for cleaning instead of sweeping. Horses are always out when we blow down as it can get dusty.

Use of a leaf blower with the horses in situ can cause or exacerbate respiratory issues - all that dust blowing everywhere. I hate it being used in American barns. Haven't regular use of leaf blowers been associated with loss of performances in racehorses?

I do use one outside on the yard occasionally, but only ever if the horses are out and are not due in for hours. I'd be wary of using one on road planings - ours is pretty powerful and would scatter the small chunks of planing material about. Tried it on the gravel drive just the once for the leaves with rather dramatic results - gravel fired off everywhere :D.
