Teckel is just a working Daschund is it not? Or someone using the name to charge more for a Springer x Dachs (sorry for being cynical )
Can't imagine they would be that easy  I would say they would have a strong work ethic if from working stock, very strong hunting/buggering off instinct and outcrossing a breed with potential back/spine problems, will not eliminate the issue in the first cross.

The thought of breeding a long backed dog with something as bouncy as a springer seems a bit mental to me! I would be concerned about back/joint problems myself. I'm sure they will turn into lovely dogs, but I bet they are a nightmare to train, imagine if they end up with a springers energy and a daxys independance!

Yup! The Dackel (Dachshund) is known in hunting circles as Teckel, and can be long haired, short haired or rough coated - basically, any form of Dachsie.

As CC said, single-minded and prone to back and spinal nerve problems..........:(

Sorry if I've painted a gloomy picture - am prepared to be blasted! ;)

Teckel is French for Dachshund. I have a Teckel a poil dur (wire haired dachs) They're used in a pack in France for wild boar hunting. The wire haired type have a bit more of a chunkier build then the smooth coat as they are working dogs.

All I can say is what an odd cross????
