Can anyone tell me a quick way of healing up a spur rub?
I've ridden in spurs for years & never left a mark but I recently got myself some ariat chaps & I just can't get my spurs to sit right with them. It came to a head in Wednesday's lesson when my poor lad ended up with a big spur rub! My teacher swears my leg wasn't the problem so the blasted chaps are being relegated to hacking him & I'll have to get some more for schooling.
I'm left with a horrid spur mark just where my leg goes. He's a fine coated, thin skinned horse & even hacking today has took the top off it. Any ideas on the best thing to do? I don't want to give him a week off for it to heal because he'll turn into a grumpy beached whale!
