Spurs - Stupid question!

Hi,

I've just started riding with spurs, whereabouts are the spurs supposed to be placed on the riding boots? I see some people wear them really low on the heel and others on the ankle, is there a right position and length to wear spurs?

Another silly question! I have spur platforms on my boots are the spurs supposed to sit above the rests or below the rests so they don't raise too high??

Spurs are supposed to sit straight just below your ankle. If you have long leather boots, along the seam of the boot. On most boots the spur stop is too high and makes the spur stick up.

As above, not on the spur rest, they're almost always sewn on stupidly high.
I'm sure you already know but just in case, spurs should be fitted so they curve downwards, not upwards!
