I haven't had a horse that I could even think about using spurs on for donkeys years!! But I want to use some with my mare for a little while - my old spurs have slowly rotted in the corner. So I though I would buy some new ones....

Go to Derby house - and there's all sorts there!!

I looked at the roller ball spurs - has anyone used these? Any good?

I only want something fairly diddly, and I had read somewhere that the roller balls can be better??

I haven't brought any spurs probably for about 15 years - and they all seem so expensive!!!

Thanks for any help xx

(I have only looked at derbyhouse so far - so I am sure there are cheaper places than that - just haven't got any further!!!)

Haven't used them, but I've also heard the roller ball ones are good, especially for horses that mark easily. Ditto the ones with little rubber tips.
Your Horse magazine has a feature this month on spurs - different styles and where to buy them. Might be worth a look? If it's not out any more let me know and I will scan the page for you!

I use little button spurs - had a wee pair for ages and then got a new pair on ebay. As far as I know the roller ball ones are quite good.

I think I might try the roller ball ones then - as we have been progressing our schooling a little I just want a little reminder should I need it - but she is a sensitive soul when it suits her!!! That's what I get for having a ginger mare hey!!
