didnt have the best day ever today- will start from the beginning i guess

dressage she warmed up horribly- there was some idiot cantering round the arena cutting everyone up- eventually someone else complained about her to the stewards. that really got Tara upset, but went in the ring after an hours warm up and she did a half decent test. got 40 exactly- not brilliant, but good in comparision to the rest of the class if that makes sense- harsh markings. but i got an 9 for my riding which i think is a first ever

but i got a couple of 4s too
blush.gif
but that was my fault.

anyway, onto showjumping- they ran the intermediate and open over the same course

lots of faults, tara wasnt feeling herself at all- really backwards

left spurs at home too. went in, jumped first nicely, came to second which is slightly downhill and she literally hardly touched it and it came down

BUT she flew the rest, jumped the ones everyone was having problems with fine- just one of those unlucky things!

onto xcountry then, the course was pretty huge- most of it was the same as the open, bar about 5 fences. she warmed up nicely, but then was napping slightly into fence 1 and 2, and then 3 (into the woods). came out and jumped 4, 5 and 6 nicely, then at number 7 (the water) a woman was having problems and couldnt get her horse over. i didnt know how tara is in this sort of situation, so i thought i would try and give her a lead as tara was really going like a steamtrain- bad idea. the bloody woman got right behind tara and she napped like mad and stopped at a log going into the water- then she tried to jump it from a standstill bless her but it was too big so circled, told woman to wait till i was over it till she followed, and she flew it second time. flew the rest of the course fine, some bloody big fences- a HUGE corner (she has never jumped a corner before in her life and this was massive!), a jump with a ditch in front (when i walked the course i stood in the ditch and couldnt reach the top of the jump! scary!), a jump with a brush coming out of it which was massive- and the dreaded sofa that someone wrote a letter to h&h complaining about it! and she flew the rest! so not too worried about the stop, just really dissapointed!

got back and checked out the leaderboard- i have NEVER seen so many "E"s on a board in all my life! i think we got placed, we came 2nd in the juniors anyway, and about 5th overall! she took all the big fences in her stride, didnt even touch anything
laugh.gif
could have done the open course in theory as it only had a handfull of different fences which wherent that big/techincal! so am quite chuffed with her, just annoyed at that stop at the water

What a clever girl you must be well pleased. Does ather remind me why I would prefer Will to go straight to BE rather than spend too long PC eventing!!

OMG Cant believe they used that sofa! Its HUGE! Well done for getting round! I was going to do it on Bobby (who jumps anything) but i chickened out before sending off my entry! Im glad i did now! Maybe ill try the Didi in September!
